The Embassy of the Republic of Serbia Serbia and Silverdocs Festival have the pleasure of inviting you to the screening of a documentary movie "Goodbuy, how are you?" on Wednesday June 23, 2010 at 1, 45 pm at "AFI Theatre 3" Silver Spring, MD, and on Friday, June 25, 2010 at 8, 15 pm at "Discovery HD Theatre", Silver Spring, MD.
GOODBYE, HOW ARE YOU?, directed by Boris Mitic (Serbia, 2009)
An unseen protagonist searches for opponents to challenge to a duel. The weapon of choice is : language , and more specifically the Serbian tradition of the satirical aphorism, a punchy escapade with a subversive twist deployed as a buffer against political corruption and the ravages of war. Providing a witty counterpoint to the film's deadpan narration, the film's collage of oddly-juxtaposed images, gathered on a three-year road trip across the former Yugoslavia, could be visual aphorisms themselves. Ironic, dark, jaded, cynical - yet somehow strangely optimistic - the narrator of this absurdist travelogue proclaims himself a man "ready to die for what I believe in. But thank God, I don't believe in anything anymore."
